Action Profile V/S workflow's start events for workflow triggering in SAP CRM

Hi Experts,

I'm working on following requirement.

• I need to trigger a custom workflow on creation of a CRM Transaction i.e. Service request.

I understand that there are 2 ways of doing it

1. Using action profile, I can trigger the workflow
2. Using triggering events of a workflow for that BOR object

I would like to understand that if I can trigger the workflow for the object through maintaining values in the PFTC transaction as shown in the screenshot, do we really need to use action profile in that case?

Please guide.
